In the first months of 2006 I increased visits to casinos in German-speaking areas – Wiesbaden, Vienna, Bregenz and Baden-Baden. My visits lead to very variable successes. In February I reached the finals of a 300 participant tournament and at least managed to take home 980 euros. Somehow, Wiesbaden seems to be a lucky place for me. I seem to progress well there or lose to the eventual winner at an early stage, as was the case in March when I lost to Georg Bernitz who went on to win the tournament. The Bregenz Open was a flop for me and also at the Concord Casino there wasn’t much for me to gather. Still, that didn’t matter much as I had to conserve myself for the biggest event of the year: the WSOP
