In January I took part in the “Four Queens Classic” and committed myself, for the first and last time, to a deal which a friend had suggested: each was to give 20% of his winnings to the other. He folded quickly, I came into money and had to surrender several hundred dollars, which at that time caused me lots of bellyaches. Well, poker players are egotists.

In April 1994 I flew again to Las Vegas and the visit proved to be most successful. I went to the legendary Binion’s Horseshoe Casino and participated in the variation Seven Card Stud tournament and out of 132 contestants finished sixth. While doing so I was the first German to reach a finals table at the WSOP. Anyhow, the prize money for this achievement was $13,400.
Later in this year Karla Eisinger became the female German Champion in Seven Card Stud. In the following years we would spend much time together.
Meanwhile, I travelled to Austria and played Texas Hold’em and Seven Card Stud at the Poker Convention. I was successful at both tournaments finishing in each case second.
