In 1997 I got to know Andreas Krause, a young and up-and-coming player, during a visit to the casino in Baden-Baden. Krause won 92,000 marks at a tournament at that time. Today, Krause is the most successful player in Europe and belongs together with Koch to the GNUF team Germany. Sometimes it takes a while for success to arrive. Patience is one of the most important virtues of a good poker player.
At present, Horst Koch is actively seeking to sponsor promising players. On his travels to poker tournaments throughout the world he is always on the lookout for new talent. When he discovers someone who in his opinion has potential, Koch will sponsor him or her for the entry fees of selected tournaments.
