Racing was always a childhood dream of mine. Even as an 11-year-old I dismantled an old VW Beetle with my uncle, until it became an open ‘racing car’. I then raced locally across fields and along forest tracks with it. For many years afterwards being a racing driver was my greatest dream of a career. I knew I had it in me it was just that the financial means to realize my dream was missing. I still ask myself today whether that old car still exists somewhere.
